Design Implementation

With the engine mount design taken care of a system is put into place to absorb the vibration energy from the engine before it is transmitted into the fuselage.  The overriding constraint of the damper system is limited available space.  Another primary constraint is that the limited available space is not a "clean" volume.  The exhaust, sparkplug, throttle linkage, and cooling fins on the cylinder head all take residence in the area needed to mount the damper assembly.  Initial measurements taken with the engine mounted to the UAV showed that the available room for the main body of the assembly is a volume with dimensions of approximately, 1.5" x 6" x 1.5".  The opening between the two arms intended to service as mounting points for the shock absorbers is found to be only about 3.25".  With the space constraints taken into account the base of the fixture is designed work within the given area.
